About Embark Innovations
Embark Innovations Inc. is a Calgary software company that builds Prodesy, the production chemical program management platform for oil & gas producers and chemical vendors. Founder-led by CEO Michael Jones, whose career spans two decades of oilfield data, mobile and analytics software.
Why we exist
Production chemicals are one of the largest controllable operating costs on a producing asset, and one of the least measured. Treatment targets live in a vendor’s spreadsheet, injection rates in a field ticket, lab results in a PDF and production volumes in an accounting system. Nobody sees all four together, so 15–20% treatment variance is normal and nobody notices.
Embark Innovations was founded in Calgary to close that gap. We build Prodesy, the chemical program management platform that connects field capture, lab analysis, production data, telemetry and reporting in a single model, so producers can see exactly what every dollar of chemical is doing and chemical vendors can prove it.
Leadership
Michael Jones, Chief Executive Officer
Michael Jones is the founder and CEO of Embark Innovations Inc. He has spent his career building software for the oil and gas industry, first in well data and engineering applications, then in oilfield mobile computing, and since 2011 in production chemical program management. He designed the original Prodesy mobile solution that integrates IoT field data (tank levels, pump rates, pressure, temperature) with lab analysis and KPI data for specialty chemical vendors and their producer customers.
Michael served as Embark’s Chief Technology Officer from 2011 and has been CEO since 2016, which is why Prodesy is built the way an operator would build it: production data first, targets calculated on current volumes, and a compliance record that both producer and vendor can trust. He is a University of Alberta alumnus and is based in Calgary, Alberta.
